Yesterday we arrived in Anchorage, from where Stefan had to fly back home today
...after 95 days of travelling together on 32.000km!

My task is now to bring the Nugget to a port in NorthAmerica from where we plan to bring it back to Europe.
So I will do another month of travelling or two - I'm not sure if at the same pace though - let's see.

Oh - I will update this soon with overdue pics from Mexiko, USA and Canada of the last 2 weeks.

From "the end of the world" on Tierra del Fuego to the Northernmost accessible point in Alaska - some statistics:

-> 27.241 kilometers
-> 76 days
-> 124 degress of latidude (S 54 to N 70)

And what counts even more:
-> challenging obstacles to take
-> funny experiences encountered
-> days with endless driving
-> days with memories that last
-> good old friendship!
-> many interessting people along the way

Even in the old-school Built_Ford_Tough camper we had a little high tech brain on board...or two..?

And here is how you have to celebrate the "mundial" or the "world championships" or the Fussballweltmeisterschaft in Deutschland! - while we couldn't be there!

On Thursday, June 29 we reached the village "Deadhorse" in the Prudhoe Bay area in Northern Alaska
That's the northernmost point on the American continent to where a road leads.
However the last 800km sometimes didn't feel like a real road! The Dalton Highway is 75% unpaved gravel, mud, stones, etc.

Anyway we got there safe and sound at 70° northern latitude - some 1200mls away from the Northpole

Our beloved Nugget took besides all the mud and dirt, some mechanical scars - well he just needs some TLC now, I guess

We're in Yukon Territory, north Kanada: 60 degrees lattitude north

sorry the only I-net place we found since the last 3000miles -and now the place is closing in 1min

Since Stocky left us in Mexiko city we drove up here in 12 days!
That were 8000km

Today is day 80 with 29.000km driven

Not sure, but without any good food nowhere

so, where are we going next?

And again some waterfalls to see:

They are called "Agua Azul" but in fact the water was pretty brownish, sice it was raining a lot the last 4 days

In any case we enjoyed it a lot

And again as if we booked a 'tourist-entertaining-tour' we had to wait until the Mexicans solved this little problem...
a bus got stuck in soft mud

The spactators were also doing a fine job

In Mexiko we first went to see the Maya ruins at Palenque

Maya's influence everywhere

Very impressive!

Now we are in Mexiko and we have to speed up a little...
We need to reach Anchorage, Alaska by 2nd July

So far 22.000 kilometers driven!
Today we crossed the Tropic of Cancer

And I will give some picture updates soon.

To see the Lago Atitlan and the adjacent waterfalls we had to overcome several obstacles...

(1) tight parking in the small town Panajachel

(2) even tighter

(3) a huge rock in the middle of the street:
was actually very funny to see people improvising with the tools they had to move the rock.

however we were rewarded and got to see them

We crossed the Honduras to Guatemala border still on the Caribbean coast on the northern edge of both countries.
Again the 'flag-proof'

Then driving down southwest, stop-by in Guatemala-city to pick-up this crazy guy:

Spent a day in Antigua, a former capital of Guatemala.

Very touristic, but still charming town!

From Nicaragua we drove into Honduras passing by El Salvador.
Actually we drove directly up north to the Caribbean Coast - to get some real beach- and palm-feeling after all

our charming camp-site 100 Meters from the coast.

Nicaragua in generall is very poor.
But still people were always friendly!

In contrast here the colonial and very nice town Granada, right on the lake Nicaragua

Right there was our first real car incident: We had a puncture
But again no problem for the helpful and funny tire-guy! Cost: 1 Euro!!

We took the chance and did an oil-exchange across the street. Cost: 9 Euro!!!

back again

So far no S2000 seen in any of the countries.
I even checked one or the other dealer while driving by - nada.
Well - mine is waiting at home

but still something for the Honda-fans:

That's right, I was busy entertaining Stocky and keeping an eye on him so he doesn't wonder off too far when seeing some girls

He joined us for the past 7 days and we had a great time!!

But let's catch up with some old stuff...
