Seems to be the same Problem... I wonder why nobody ever noticed that VTEC-Problem before.Actually I'm looking for the same kind of combined Adapter which might solve the problem, but I didn't find a supplier for it in Germany.
Where did you get that new adapter from?
I bought the adapter in HK.

to be a bit more precise here...(from what I understood on the phone)
you did not over-rev, you basically hit the rev-limiter!
The sole purpose of that is to not let you over-rev (while accelerating)Correct, I hit the rev-limiter in 3rd.

So, I had mega fun and everything is in one piece!
Thanks S2H for meeting up and giving some track tips.

Hi Micha B!
Yesterday I was at the HHR and drove some laps. I noticed the same problem when I reached VTEC and the car sounded different, plus I felt a slight power decrease. I thought this was because I over-reved in 3rd for 2-3 seconds, but normally this should be ok. S2H was together with me and mentioned to me that there was a thread about this VTEC problem.
So, I also have an oil cooler with a double sandwich adapter. I do not notice any problem in VTEC when driving off the track, meaning my oil temp. is under 110°C, but when I last drove on the NS and my temp. reached ca.135°C, I felt that the engine was not performing at it's best in VTEC mode. Yesterday at the HHR I noticed exactly the same problem. Under 110°C VTEC was strong but as soon as I reached ca.130°C it started to struggle. This problem only happens on the track under tough conditions.......
I believe bpaspi is right in saying that the "double sandwich adapter" concept is not a good one because of the lower oil pressure.
I will remove my douple adapter and build in a single one and see if the problem under high temp. disappears. I believe it will. If not, then I'm just gonna get a complete new system from Greddy!
It's time for a re-build!
Here is my current set-up.

And much more accidents on the track, cause its the most dangerous track around the world
On the NS never passes a day without several accidents. On the HHR rarely I see accidents ocure, even with a track ful of cars. I have more fear driving on the NS, than on the HHR.
Every track is a challenge but I have driven the NS and it's dangerous when you don't know the track or your car. I have experienced little traffic on the NS, unless of course you drive on Karfreitag, then it's absolutely crazy! You always have to respect and watch out for the other racers.
Well, like I said before, I'll check out the scene first.......and maybe get a good tan!

Tomorrow it will be very warm and the track will be extremly full.
100-150 Cars on Track at once.In the last years i have driven several times on the track and this track is easy to drive. But McHeizer say it right, this track kills your brakes very fast. Some years before, i killed my brakes on the track
At the Spitzkehre you arrive with 210 KM/h and slow down to 30-40Km/h several times. At the Spitzkehre you must pay attention, not to shock with other cars, its the most dangerous corner on the track in my oppinion, but its easy to avoid accidents, if you behave right.
Probably you can drive the first time on the HHR on my car as Copilot, my brakes on my daily driver are not the best, i have to see tomorrow if I take a turn and of course i'll take you as Copilot
If you follow "the rules" the car, the brakes and you will be ok after the Touristenfahrten.
The most important things to pay attention of, i'll tell you tomorrow on the track
That's a large number of cars on the track at the same time!
When it's so busy then I may drive later in the evening, 19:30 or so. I'll be there at around 17:00 anyway, to check out the scene before driving.
Bis dann!

from what I hear they drive much more crazy than on the N.ring
so beware!
And good that you upraded your brakes, cause HHR eats brakes (and you need power) Personally one of my lesser favorite tracks...Have fun
Yeh, that's what you mentioned to me before. I'll play safe!
-
Sure no problem! You probably know the track better than me because it will be my first time driving the HR, so you can give directions!
My S is royal navy blue pearl....... Perhaps we will meet then. Cool.
-
Hey everyone!
I'm gonna be driving at the Hockenheimring on Thursday the 20.08 from 17:00 onwards. Anyone interested to join me and my S?
Gruesse!
-
Sounded like the car was totally out of track! Did the S have the Evasive spec. Tein SR?
Looked like lots of fun Yves! Your like the international test driver man!

Love the last picture!

I have to disagree on that oneNee, die ist auch cool! Gratuliere
Ok, both the ASM and Amuse are very nice front bumpers.......
I'm looking forward to seeing it painted and fitted!
-
Sexy front end!
The Amuse front bumper is very nice and perhaps even better than the ASM.
Congradulations!
-
Those hood dampers are made fresh from a block of stainless steel, that's why it took so long to fabricate!
Thanks Igor for the organisation!

Interesting build?!? The person has good skills though........

Bought this last year sometime and I never got around to mounting them. I've got a couple of new ideas for my S, so I don't need the pulleys anymore!
If anyone is interested just let me know.
