The AEM CAI or the V2 are both designed on the Dyno(leistungsprufstand) to optimize horsepower and torque gains across the engine rev range. Please go to http://www.aempower.com and look at the Dyno graphs posted. They show you exactly where and at what revs your horsepower gains are. The No name CAI come mostly from China, have never seen a dyno, and can actually cost you horsepower, instead of increasing your horsepower. All they do is make noise and nothing else. The funny squeaking comes from the fact that they are NOT dyno developed, and therefore no under hood temperature studies have been done. They have also not done any fuel trim tests either. So, even for 100 euro, it is actually a waste of time and money. Hope that this clarifies things. |
Dear Jeremy,
I do have an original AEM CAI installed but nevertheless have that squeaking noise on acerleration for about one second. Did I made a mistake on my installation?
