How many, or better - who - from this forum has ordered the puffo?
I am interested in a datalog of the MAP values at WOT to compare with my X-Airbox and the OEM Airbox.
i've one, but still not tested
i'll try to compare OEM and Puffo by reading the MAP values via OBD
Bernd, do u think this should work?
Yes. Comparing MAP values during road driving is the best way IMHO.
Third gear please, starting from 2,000rpm, WOT until 9,000rpm.
First and second gear is to fast for accurate datalogging, fourth and fifth gear is to fast for police.
Happy to read you Pat!
i think your way to compare should work as well;
many people tested using different ways,
from the ECU exit plugged with a PC,
to the GPS tracking,
someothers stopwatched and after calculate the missing time as improvement,
(i still prefere the dynos, but it's just me)
they ALL had same results:
it's not that much,
but at least 5% power encreasement have to come,
just because like everyone knows,
maths is not an opinion.
A guy from here has a test in this days and contacted me to help me to find out,
but after the results they had testing,
in this moment french are buyng all my production within 2 months,
so i was unable to provide a Puffo for testing.
I hope Pat will find out,
because his doubt are exactley tghe same i used to have when we started developping it.
I suggest a test for the guys who have not electronic way to prove it.
take a piece of unlimited speed motorway,
strting from zero reach the top spedd ad stopwatch it,
do the same test several times in teh same conditions and after uninstall the Puffo and try same test with stock intake fitted.
Let us know what do you discover.
Gram.
Bernd, how can i record the MAP values while driving?
actual i've the OEM ECU, but in the next months (i hope so) i'll have my AEM - then it will be easier to record
also i can compare the A/F values
sorry guys, but i've got not much time at the last months for testing but i'll do it
You can log the MAP data with an OBD scanner. Not with every, but lot of scanners have this function. Even my IPhone does this with the "REV" App.
I would propose we do the datalogging this weekend. Come on Patrick, take the time for the short testdrive. I think Gramigno deserves some results finally.
don't know if my OBD scanner is able to
it's this one:
http://www.obd-2.net/produkte/obd-2-handhelds.html
maybe if i connect it via USB to my laptop i can log the data?
i'll try to make it, but the weather forcast isn't very good - could be heavy rain
No, this scanner cannot log data. The USB connection is only capable of updating the software.
A cheap OBD Scanning and logging system:
ok, thanks for the link
now testing with my OBD does'nt make sense, hm?
i need a co-driver to read and compare the data - who's crazy enough?
Hi Patrick,
in the product details of your OBD-scanner i can't find something about logging. Only about realtime reading.
I've logged my Puffo with a USB OBD-interface for my laptop. The software i use is named moDiag http://www.modiag.de.
The following picture shows the result:
blue = MAP
red = IAT
atmospheric pressure = 980 mBar (98 kPa)
air temperature = 10°C
gear = 4th
track = autobahn without speedlimit
PM mich einfach mal.
Gruß
Maddy

I forgot maybe to say how i did this results,
it have to be dynoed with closed bonnet and hight speed air,
if it's done with open bonnet i don't know how much, but it have to rise because with open bonnet you will have more air then in the real world.
