Cockpitdesign - 100% Full custom EL Tachos!

  • Hello everyone,

This is a message from Cockpitdesign, The Netherlands to all you carfreaks. We are

carlovers that make a living out of a hobby.

So what's the deal? Cockpitdesign is a Dutch company that is specialized in making custom

car dial design for many carbrands and cartypes. Cockpitdesign has been busy with this

product for some time now. We make dials in any colour that you wish.

A little while ago, after a lot of experimenting, we started our production on custom

Codeglowz, dials equal to the well-known Indiglo dials, based on EL technology (Electro

Luminescence). The difference is that we offer the possibility to choose your own

colours, design, logos, text, etc. There's no stock, we start producing dials after an

order is placed, so what you get is 100% customized. Check these samples:

With succes we've already sold the first Codeglow sets and we are confident that there's

a huge demand for this in your area. So please visit our website http://www.cockpitdesign.nl .

At the moment the site is mainly in Dutch, but we're working on an improved website,

translated into English, that will be launched very soon. If you have further questions

or remarks, please send us an e-mail: info@cockpitdesign.nl and we're happy to answer

    your questions.

Once again, our products are 100% full custom, no standard products.

    See you!

  • Dear Mr.JTC,

I guess we know our car better than your.

Please have a look how an Honda S2000 looks like...it is DIGITAL.

And you CANNOT put an EL design foil on top or behind it!

    Regards,

    Yves

  • Ok, let me ask you this for instance: does it work with LCD? in other words, did you find a glass plated that 's being fed with certain digital input?

YES...its a negative driven LCD which is backlighten by some light bulbs which are colored.

If you put an EL-foil behind the LCD filters too much luminosity from the EL-foil.

  • I understand, but are the bulbs really coloured or did you find a coloured filter behind the plate? Why I ask you this, in the last case you CAN certainly change the colours by having that filter changed into a total different colourscale... Smile Ok, my fault, so maybe we don't need EL here, but there are different ways to change your dash..

  • Yes there is a color filter too.

But if you change it too blue too much light is "eaten" but the blue filter.

You need to put stonger bulbs.

But you cannot because the Amps go too high the.

The only chance is by putting a custom layout with many white or blue leds

  • What you mean is that because the blue is to dark, there no much contrast any more in the display. Yes, it depends on the right use of the right colours. We've been doing this stuff too Smile We got the right colours, see... But even with this, I think our EL could be of use. I mean, the EL can be dimmed and we can put any shade of colour that would be nescessary to get the right contrast. At the end, EL still replaces the original bulbs. So I still believe we can help even owners of S2000s Smile BTW, besides the colorchanging we are talking right now, we can also do some nice stuff with the front.

Yes, thats what I mean...blue color is not intense enough.

No need to dim the EL ...all foils I used are not bright enough

    But you can try!

Sho wus what you can do..there will be some people interessted if it works! Wink

Ok, so a combination between, EL and a different colourfilter might work?

No because the EL has too low intensity.

Only very high intensity EL without filter might work.
