long story short... wait a few days... i learned quite a bit today. i think we all did.
we need to analyze everything with the mags first. i need to get the ok to post the dyno sheets from the mag. this is their story, and they want us to not leak it out otherwise it would defeat the purpose of their dyno shootout for the magazines.
weird day for a dyno... for all those that were present... we all agreed that the crazy gusty Santa Ana wind conditions played a big part to affect dyno results. at times, it felt like the day of armageddon. winds did die down, only to pick back up in an hour or so. gusty winds has a big effect on air density... it felt really dry when the winds were kicking. the fan speed readings were very inconsistent as a result... we were measuring between 28-46 mph fan speeds depending on the actual wind conditions, if it was either choppy or calm.
XS engineering keeps a $200,000.00 dyno outside... go figure on that one.
the mags might be setting up something else again in a few weeks... to back up their results and prove their suspicions about which system or types of systems works best. i think they will be checking the weather to find a nice calm day to test.
